LAUREN (LEVIN) BOGGS (2007)

Boggs, Class of 2007, was a four-year varsity starter at shortstop and catcher for the Vikings softball team. She finished her varsity career with an all-time batting average of .485, and was named the DeKalb County Batting Champion in 2006 with a batting average of .638. In addition, she was a two-time Overall MVP, Defensive MVP, and Offensive MVP selection.Following her graduation from Lakeside, Boggs received a softball scholarship to Winthrop University in Rock Hill, S.C., becoming the only softball player in Lakeside history to earn a Division I scholarship. While at Winthrop, she was a four-year starter at catcher for the Eagles. She was a part of the Winthrop team that became Big South Conference champions in 2008, and was an all-conference selection for academics in 2010.She returned to Lakeside High School to coach junior varsity and varsity softball from 2014-21. During her tenure, she helped lead the Vikings to two playoff appearances. In 2015, she began to teach social studies at Lakeside, and was named the Lakeside Teacher of the Year from 2020-22.Boggs has been the department chair for social studies for the past two years, and a co-sponsor of Student Government since 2015. In 2020, she married her husband Everett, and in 2024 had her daughter Lilly-Claire. Both are the loves of her life.
