Trammell, Class of 1978, is the recipient of this year’s Beth Cooley Cheerleading Award as one of the school’s most-spirited alumnus. She was a member of the Vikings cheerleading team for five years, and became one of only two sophomores to letter in the first year Lakeside allowed sophomores to try out for the varsity team.Following her graduation from Lakeside, Trammell continued her education at Georgia State University. As a Panther, she earned a Bachelor of Business Administration before embarking on a career with International Business Machines Corporation (IBM). She remained stationed in Atlanta for several years while on the job.In 1985, she married her husband Dwayne, and the two have been happily married for 40 years. After having children, Trammell switched gears professionally, and began working as the assistant director for a church preschool, a position she held for 33 years.To date, Trammell’s proudest achievements in life are her two children, her daughter Leslie and son Chris. Leslie and her husband John have blessed her with two grandchildren, Jack and Caroline, while Chris and his wife Peyton have given her two more grandsons in Eden and Kerrigan. They are also expecting a daughter, due in May, to add to the Trammell family tree.
