JODY ANDRADE (1984)

Andrade, Class of 1984, was a varsity tennis player during her time at Lakeside where she played in both singles and doubles for the Vikings. In her time on the tennis court at Lakeside, Andrade was a part of the 1984 state championship team, still to this day the only girl’s tennis state championship in the program's history.Coached by longtime Lakeside football head coach Phil Lindsey, who was in his first season as the head coach, Andrade and Lindsey led the girls team to the state title, the fourth-ever girls state championship in DeKalb County history.After Lakeside, Andrade attended Wake Forest University where she began playing tennis for the Demon Deacons in her sophomore season. After graduating from Wake Forest with honors and a degree in Economics, Andrade attended Georgia State where she earned a master’s degree in Sports Administration. After college, Andrade became a sports agent and managed events under Andrade Consulting. Andrade also became a co-founder of the Andrade-Faxon Charities for Children. The charity benefits at-risk children in multiple northeastern states and has raised $10 million since 1994. She graduated from Columbia Theological Seminary in 2014 with a Master of Divinity. Andrade is currently a Presbyterian Minister in Atlanta. She is married to Billy and they have two children, Cameron and Grace.
