CHEERLEADING


BETH COOLEY (1982)

Cooley, Class of 1982, earned three varsity letters as a cheerleader for the Vikings. As a senior, she was voted co-captain of the cheerleading team. Cooley excelled academically in school as a four-time honor roll student and was a National Honor Society member her senior year. From eighth grade to her senior year, she was an active participant in the Miss Lakeside Court, winning the competition and being crowned Miss Lakeside her senior year.Following her graduation from Lakeside, Cooley went on to attend college at the University of Georgia with a scholarship from the Miss Georgia National Teenager pageant. She continued to cheer for the Bulldog’s varsity cheerleading squad and was a member of the Golden Key National Honor Society.Cooley graduated from Georgia with a Bachelor of Business Administrations in Management Information Systems in 1986, and used the ensuing years to start a career in consulting before becoming a mother of three. She remained active with the Northside United Methodist Church, and took a role on the Board of Directors at the Refugee Resettlement Services of Atlanta.
